Let's talk about Prince for a minute. This guy had it all - killer vocals, mad guitar skills, and a stage presence that was electric! He had the ability to turn any song into a full-blown musical experience, complete with those signature high notes that sent shivers down your spine. Plus, his style was unreal - I mean, who else could pull off ruffles and lace like that?

His music was the soundtrack to my childhood. Mum playing his album full blast on a Saturday morning while cleaning the house (with interesting renditions being sung along to Kiss), watching his epic music videos on MTV and Controversy still gives me goosebumps even now!

When I decided to paint Prince again, this time instead of using upcycled papers, I wanted to do a deep dive into his life and include articles about his life, achievements, challenges, and death in order to paint a full picture of the man we love, the King of many of our hearts 💜 I also included my favourite album covers and tributes by others close to him.

I love how he pushed the boundaries of gender and stood up for those less fortunate than him, and when I learned about his unfortunate experience with his only child, I saw how he transformed some of his pain into his music and charitable work. It gave context for what ultimately would take his life in the form of substance use. By taking in the enormity of his contributions to the medical field, the impoverished of Minneapolis and the music scene as a whole, it really shows us that we have so much power to change the world for the better, no matter how wounded or imperfect we are ✨

Prints are open edition but numbered, with digital certificate of authenticity.

Canvas - Available framed or unframed. Frames are custom made in Australia to order, Black 1.5cm float frames with a 6mm gap between the frame and canvas (making the final measurement 4cm larger than the canvas size). Canvas prints are printed with archival quality ink, and stretched on kiln dried Timbers. Ready to hang.

Paper - Paper size is universal to allow for easy framing. Print area will be proportionate to the original painting size (4:5) which means the white spacing around the edge of the print will be larger top and bottom, this can be cut off and framed to the print size by a framer, or framed as it is (depends on taste). Printed onto Ilford Galerie Textured Cotton Rag (310gsm), 100% Cotton Rag Matt paper for the very best in fine art printing. Archival quality.

Due to long processing times at the printers I use for digitising my work, please allow until 17 June for dispatch. They check and cross check colouring to ensure the closest match to the original painting in different lighting (cloudy, sunny etc) and this process can take a while but gives the best quality results!
